“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected [Eliab]. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’ ”
I have a very personal attachment to this song. I never was very confident in myself and still struggle with it at times. Like David, I’m not the best at my craft. David wasn’t the tallest, strongest, or wisest, but God still chose HIM to lead Israel. I’m not the best singer, songwriter, or guitar player, but God has called me to write and play music. It’s not the outward appearance (our talents, abilities, physical abilities, speech, etc.) that God is concerned with. He’s concerned with our hearts.

Tear down the walls they’re too high to climb
And all you’ve done is lock yourself inside your own heart.
Throw me a rope or a line and I’ll find a way to get to you.
You can’t keep me, you can’t keep me outside.
Go away my dear, you won’t find me here.
There’s nothing you can do to bring me back to you.
I can’t wait for you. No -
I won’t simply let this go
‘Cause I love you
More than you could know
Could you let go? Please don’t break the door down.
I’m not ready to let you see that I’m not enough, I’m not enough, I’m not enough for you.
I’ll only disappoint you. So you should go before I let you down,
But do you you really love me as you say?
Turn off the lights they’re too bright to see you behind
All I want is to look into Your life with mine
But darling can’t you see. You mean everything. You’re all I want and more.
You’re worth more than you could ever dream.
I can’t wait for you. No -
I won’t simply let this go
‘Cause I love you
More than you could know
